When we hear “how to erase difficult people,” most of us imagine managing emotions. But the real key is to remember why you are here — and to understand how your brain works.
1. Why are you here in the first place?
At work, your purpose might be “to deliver results” or “to contribute to team productivity.”At home, it may be “to build trust and safety.”In school, “to learn and grow.”Your true purpose is never “to worry about how others see you” or “to let someone you dislike control your mind.”
2. What happens when you focus on emotions?
When you think, “I can’t stand that person,” your brain will filter and highlight only information related to that negativity. This is the Color-Bus Effect and the RAS (Reticular Activating System) at work:
Color-Bus Effect: once you focus on something, you see it everywhere.
RAS: your brain’s filter that only lets in what you consider important.
The more you focus on dislike, the more that person dominates your awareness.
3. Switch your focus with better questions
Instead of letting emotions lead, ask yourself:
“What am I here to accomplish?”
“What’s the best action aligned with my purpose?”
These simple questions shift your brain’s filter back to purpose instead of emotions.
4. What does it really mean to “erase” difficult people?
It’s not about physically removing them. It’s about removing them from your mental filter. In that moment, they transform from a “trigger” into mere “background.”Your energy returns to where it belongs — your purpose.
💡 In summary
If you assume difficult people will control you, your life becomes dependent on others.
If you reaffirm your purpose, you reclaim your power.
Brain science shows: wherever you direct your attention, your filter follows.
To “erase” difficult people is to shift your filter back to what truly matters.
Live not in reaction to others, but with clarity of purpose. That is the path to freedom and ease.
